Reflecting the significance of The Cross in the life of the believer.
The Cross is made on an 11”x14”x1” cradled solid wood panel.
The artwork is created in the cradled inside of framed area and measures 11.25”x8.25”.
This work of art was created in many layers.
First the entire surface, front and back was primed with premium primer to prevent the resin from bubbling and denting.
Entire surface was coated with 2 coats acrylic artist paint.
Background was painted using only premium artist quality acrylic paints.
Cross was cut and assembled and secured to surface.
Epoxy Resin was applied to cross (to avoid damage and reduce fragility) and embellishments were added.
After drying the entire Center surface was coated with 3 separate coats of hand poured Artresin epoxy resin. (24 hour drying time between each layer)
Framed area was finished off with several coats of satin acrylic varnish.
All products used in the creation are non-toxic, non-yellowing and UV protected.
Back of piece has hanging hardware installed. I chose to wire this piece instead of using sawtooth due to overall weight.
This beautiful piece looks almost 3-D with the resin coated Cross protruding.
